Honoring Heroes – Empowering Lives

Corry's Foundation

Corry’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing trained service dogs to individuals, including veterans and children, with physical or medical challenges. We believe everyone deserves access to the healing power of a loyal companion—regardless of their circumstances.

Our Mission

Through compassion and commitment, we bridge the gap between those in need and the life-changing partnership of a service dog offering hope, healing, and independence for veterans and children with physical and medical challenges.

Corry's Story

Lieutenant Commander William M. Corry, Jr. was a decorated Navy aviator and WWI hero who gave his life rescuing a fellow pilot in 1920. For his bravery, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. To honor his sacrifice, the Navy named three ships after him—including the USS Corry, which led the charge on Utah Beach during D-Day and was tragically lost in battle.

The Legacy Lives On

Exactly 74 years later, on June 6, 2018, a special litter of puppies was born—each named for a fallen veteran. One of them, Corry, was trained as a medical service dog to carry on the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and service.

Today, Corry is Serving Samantha

Samantha has lived with Type 1 Diabetes since she was 14 months old. While medical technology has come a long way, it doesn’t work for everyone—and it didn’t work for Samantha. But Corry did.
The day they met, Corry alerted Samantha to a dangerous spike in blood sugar—before she even felt it. Since that day, Corry has brought peace of mind, safety, and support that no device could offer.
Samantha now works as a pharmacist in Kansas City, with Corry by her side every step of the way.
